Abstract

Choiring is an activity that is often found in various circles nowadays. The choir itself has various types such as (gospel category choir) or a choir that performs gospel singing. Where gospel singing is known to have the characteristics of vocal music which prioritizes vocal strength and harmonization. Therefore a trainer is needed who understands various learning methods that can be used to make it easier for a choir to learn well about gospel singing. This research is a type of qualitative research where the data is in the form of descriptions. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study are that the use and combination of the drill method and the demonstration method are very effective for use by trainers in providing training to choir members, because the drill method can be used to train choir members to become accustomed and independent in carrying out and completing a song while the demonstration method can be used by coaches as a way to present the process of singing. In the process of learning gospel singing using these two methods it will be able to provide facilities for choir members in learning and improving their quality because in the demonstration method the trainer directly practices what choir members must do such as vocal color, harmonization, the character of each each voice (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) correctly so that after the choir members understand the process, the coach uses the drill method to hone the choir members' abilities by carrying out the exercise process repeatedly to the point where the choir members are independent and able to do it well.
